10 K-dramas I have watched- Part 1
Here, is a list of 10 K-dramas I have watched in the past one year. I have divided my total K-dramas into multiple lists and will be sharing the rest soon, so those names will not be included here. Hope this blog will help you choose what to watch next. Enjoy :)
- My First First Love 1 (2019)
Genre: Contemporary romance, Coming of age
What I liked: This was my first K-drama and it introduced me to the whole K-drama fandom. It was a refreshing story of couples falling in love with each other.
My rating: 7/10 (It is a light and fun drama, recommend it to teenagers and people are hard-core romantics and believe in ‘First love’.)
2. I’m Not a Robot (2017)
Genre: Sci-fi, Romantic-comedy
What I liked: This show could have gone both ways: Extremely good or messed up, confusing. Thankfully, it turned out to be good. The couple looked cute together and had great chemistry between them. The story line was new and unique and the drama had both its part of romance and comedy
My rating: 7.5/10 (People looking for a new story theme or a Sci-fi show can definitely watch this one.)
3. What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim? (2018)
Genre: Romantic-comedy, Boss-Secretary theme
What I liked: It is one of the best Boss-secretary comedy K-drama I have seen. Both Park Seo-joon and Park Min-young play two lively characters who have great fashion sense and the chemistry between them is so fun to watch. The two have been tagged by their fans as ‘One of the most hot couple in K-drama’ for this show, numerous times. The background scores are peppy too, perfectly suiting the theme.
My rating: 8/10 (A must watch for the Seo-joon & Min-young fans. If you are looking for a light, feel-good drama, go for it. It will definitely make you laugh.)
4. School 2017 (2017)
Genre: Teen drama, Coming of age, Comedy
What I liked: I liked the theme of the show, it was good to see that people now feel free to talk about grade ranking and other injustice done at schools. However, though the solution brought by the show looked appealing, it did not seem realistic enough in real life. The comic timing of the characters are good, specially that of Kim Jung-hyun.
My rating: 7/10 (Teen drama fans should definitely watch it.)
5. Uncontrollably fond (2016)
Genre: Romance, Drama
What I liked: The cast was good-looking and Woo-bin was at his best.Though, fans have often criticized Bae Suzy for her acting skills but she looked and acted her part quite well. The story was gripping and intense, it had my complete attention.
My rating: 8/10 (High recommendation for all Kim Woo-bin fans.)
6. She Was Pretty (2015)
Genre: Romantic-comedy
What I liked: The story was fun to watch and cheered me up. Park Seo-joon and Hwang Jung Eum had great comic timing in this one. Also, try not to develop a Second Lead Syndrome, try your best :p.
My rating: 7.5/10 (Want to watch something funny or have a crush on Seo-joon, this is the one!)
7. The Heirs (2013)
Genre: Romance, Drama
What I liked: I watched this show because of its popularity and was happy that I did so. It had a grand cast, multiple glamorous locations, great OSTs and the perfect amount of drama. Many of the cast have gotten famous after doing this show (Lee Min-ho, Park Shin-hye, Kim Woo-bin and many more. It defines what a ‘drama’ truly should be.
My rating: 8/10 (Just watch it!)
8. Heartstrings (2011)
Genre: Musical drama, Romance
What I liked: Watched this series right after ‘You are beautiful’ and was so glad to see the two leads together. They had amazing chemistry and looked cute together. The OSTs were great as well. However, I felt the acting could have been better but the leads anyway managed to bring out the emotions.
My rating: 7.5/10 (Must watch for Shin-hye and Jung Yong-hwa shippers.)
9. Sassy, go go (2015)
Genre: Teen drama, Romance
What I liked: This show reminded me of school and college days, how the clubs used to fight among each other to prove their importance. It is a lively and fun show, where the students are shown to experience love but also face rejection.
My rating: 7/10 (If you are a teen drama lover or looking for a High-school themed show, watch this.)
10.12 years of promise (2014)
Genre: Romance, Drama
What I liked: This drama has two parts, the past and the present. The past is a teenage drama plot of high school students falling in love. Whereas, the present evolves around adults, who take a look back at their past decisions. I liked the past story and actors better than the adult ones. The actors playing the adult leads were lacking chemistry.
My rating: 6.5/10 (Teen drama lovers can watch this. You can watch it for the cute actors too.)
